Description

 The Human Trafficking CE Course seeks to inform social work professionals what human trafficking looks like, what is currently being done to combat human trafficking, and how professionals can empower and advocate for victims through a multi-disciplinary trauma-informed approach. This training will cover forms of trafficking, anti-trafficking laws, vulnerabilities of those who can potentially be trafficked, the impact of trafficking on victims, and trauma-informed responses in order to meet the needs of those who have been victimized. We will also cover safety tips and tricks for staying safe online and keeping youth safe while they are online.

Amber Maledy, LMSW

Amber Maledy, LMSW is a training specialist with Cornerstones of Care and serves on the WIDE committee ensuring a commitment to diversity and inclusion within the organization. She has experience in child welfare, developmental disabilities, and trauma. She has been with Cornerstones of Care since 2015 working with children and families in the child welfare system. Prior to Cornerstones of Care she worked with cancer patients at a cancer center and worked with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities in a supported living setting. Amber has a undergraduate degree in Psychology from Columbia College and a Master’s degree in Social Work from UMKC. She has presented at International Conferences such as the Signs of Safety Gathering and National Conferences including Sanctuary Network days and Netsmart’s Connections Event. She also won the Spirt of the Alliance award in 2016 for outstanding service with families and children.

Training Specialist

Natasha Fletcher

Natasha Fletcher, MS is a training specialist with Cornerstones of Care and is a part of the Human Trafficking Task Force along with the ICWA Round Table in coalition with Missouri Children's Division. She has experience in child welfare and corrections case management. She has been with Cornerstones of Care since June 2017 starting out as a Family Development Specialist, in which she worked with individuals and families to become licensed resource parents and helped them maintain their licensure while working with youth in foster care. Her previous case management experience includes working with the male population of the Kansas Department of Corrections at Lansing Correctional Facility and investigating child abuse and neglect through Missouri Children's Division. Natasha has a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Missouri. Through her graduate coursework, she has had papers published on Human Trafficking and presented at a national conference on Missouri's preparedness in combatting Human Trafficking.
